Looking Beyond TSH
Thyroid dysfunction is one of the most underdiagnosed and undertreated conditions in functional medicine. Conventional care often focuses on measuring TSH and prescribing levothyroxine (T4), but many patients continue to experience symptoms despite 'normal' laboratory values.

How Thyroid Hormones Work
The thyroid gland primarily produces thyroxine (T4), which is relatively inactive until it is converted into triiodothyronine (T3).
